I'm a former president of a German shepherd rescue. We pulled a dog from a shelter, unseen, who turned out to be what the vets tell me is a wolfdog. He was adopted twice but came back because of severe separation anxiety and an innate talent for escaping. I adopted him when we moved to Montana. It's been a trial sometimes but after a year he has become a well-behaved housedog. He wears a Tagg pet tracker just in case he gets out, but the last couple of times he has come when he was called. I have been told he is a wolfdog by several vets. One noted his head shape and eye shape and another talked about the hair on his ruff. Part of me wants to know, but it really wouldn't make any difference. He's our boy now, part of our pack of four (the other three are two retrievers and a Bichon).
